SME SalesTeam determines how and why your personal data is processed for the Platform, so we act as a data controller in many cases (and a processor in limited cases where we process on a Buyer’s instructions). (Kenya Law)

2) Personal data we collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
A) Data you provide
Account details: name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form)
Profile info: location, skills, experience, resume/CV (if uploaded), portfolio links
Buyer/company info: business name, contact person, business email/phone, billing info
Project info you submit: proposals, messages, deliverables, evidence of closed deals (e.g., invoice references), dispute information
B) Data we collect automatically
Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, timestamps, clicks
Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9)
C) Payment and transaction data
Transaction amounts, status, timestamps, and limited billing details needed for reconciliation

3) Why we use your data (purposes)
We use personal data to:
Create and manage accounts
Match Buyers and Sales Talents and run the marketplace (bidding, hiring, delivery, approvals)
Facilitate payments, fees, refunds, and fraud prevention
Provide customer support and resolve disputes
Send service notifications (e.g., project updates, approvals, security alerts)
Improve and secure the Platform (analytics, debugging, abuse detection)

4) Lawful basis for processing
We process personal data using one or more lawful bases recognized under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, including:

A) Other Platform users (as needed to run projects)
Buyers and Sales Talents may see each other’s profile information, proposals, project messages, deliverables, and evidence needed for approvals and dispute resolution.
B) Payment processors and financial partners

Hosting, email/SMS, analytics, customer support tools, and security providers—only as necessary to operate the Platform, under appropriate safeguards.
D) Legal and regulatory disclosures

Service/transaction messages (e.g., password resets, project updates) are not marketing and may still be sent.

The Platform is not intended for children under 13. If we learn we collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we may delete it.
